Who are we?
Does the development of artificial intelligence transcend the dimensions of the conceivable? Which aspects of human life ought to be secured? And can we provide answers to the moral questions which are rapidly arising?
Three questions that help us to introduce ourselves. We are students of the Philosophy & Economics programmeat the university of Bayreuth. Each year we challenge the undergraduates to organize the bayreuther dialoge, a conference which celebrates it’s 16thbirthday this year.
As society is facing dramatical ethical changes we are confronted with new technological developments, which offer us new perspectives on what we are capable of, like human enhancement does. Similar examples widen the horizon of what is possible.
Values are changing and so is our conception of morality. For some this means advancement, for others destruction.
To provide clarity and figure out where we see ourselves, we think that dialogue is inevitable. For that, we invite different speakers with diverse scientific and philosophical backgrounds to participate in podium discussions, interactive workshops and many more formats.
Therefore, we invite you to the 16thbayreuther dialoge on the 26thand 27thof October. Together we want to build a basis for a future in which we rethink and create moral values. For a world each of us wants to live in.
